STAR Teacher Award

The Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) recognizes the senior from each participating high school who achieves the highest SAT score on one test date. The highest test scorer must also qualify with additional requirements which include being in the top 10% of his/her class. This year, The Weber School’s STAR student is Ben Stolovitz.

The STAR student program allows the STAR student to name the teacher who has been most instrumental in his/her academic development and Ben chose Mr. Sam Bradford as STAR teacher. In an eloquent and thoughtful speech, Ben explained his choice, saying to Mr. Bradford, “I love Dostoevsky and Dickens because of you. I saw the Matrix and some other trippy films in your class. You let me see the world of opinions, bad actors pantomiming Hemingway  and Great Expectations gone awry. Mr. Bradford, you helped me get on the path I walk today. Thank you.”
